“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
~ James 1:27
Thank you for visiting our website. Please consider visiting with us soon: we would be delighted to meet you and to share the love of Christ with you.
Immanuel is a church that tells the story of the love of God which is given to you in the Gospel of his Son, Jesus Christ, and which is spread out in the hearts of his gathered people by the Holy Spirit. We would love to welcome you into our church family! Immanuel is a warm, vibrant, and growing congregation located in Coraopolis, PA which is in the Pittsburgh area and about ten minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport. We are a congregational expression of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, and a member congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
We love the triune God of our confession—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the Church he has bought for himself; the weak and needy and oppressed; and the glory of the Gospel at work in the relationships, homes, community, and service of the fellowship of God’s saints. We treasure our men and women, boys and girls, young and old, rich and poor, unlearned and educated. We are driven by the pursuit of God’s glory in the religion St. James called “pure and undefiled.”
Immanuel was started as a church plant in 2001, and was particularized as a congregation in 2004. We are a congregation in the Presbytery of Ohio of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, which is an expression of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.
Immanuel is a congregational expression of the true church that is “not confined, bound, or limited to a certain place or to certain persons, but is spread and dispersed over the whole world; and yet is joined and united with heart and will, by the power of faith, in one and the same Spirit” (Belgic Confession, article 27). We rejoice in the fact that there are many thousands of churches throughout the world that confess the same truth we have received.
